Cultivating The Empty Garden is an installation comprised of six 25’ tall fabric
and aluminum roses that move into the space from the ceiling. Below them are six cushions,
each with a bronze hammer engraved with one of the Six Perfections of Buddhism.
A soundscape of bells and spoken narratives describing personal stories of ordination
is emanating from the piece. The walls are lined with dirt covered shelves, mirror fragments, and images of hands.
